Objective:
The winter institute on Agroforestry for Climate Change Mitigation, Biodiversity Conservation and Resilience in Agroecological Systems: current trends and future strategies was conducted with the intention of giving first hand training on the various dimension agroforestry to the practitioners and scientists involved in the practice of agroforestry.

The ICAR sponsored winter school on Agroforestry for Climate Change Mitigation, Biodiversity Conservation and Resilience in Agroecological Systems: Current Trends and Future Strategies was held at College of Forestry, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur during 03 to 23 December 2019. The winter school program broadly covered topics such as an overview of agroforestry systems: distribution, types, characteristics, importance, recent advances and developments; Ecosystem services of agroforestry systems, Incorporating agroforestry principles and practices in the design of Climate-smart agriculture, Sustainable intensification; Low input technologies for marginal farmers; Systems that ensure livelihood and nutritional security such as fruit forests and medicinal tree gardens; and Tree based industrial agroforestry models.
