Objective:
This training mainly focuses on intensive practical exposure to participants along with one lecture per day to understand the basic principles of different analytical and molecular techniques viz. Extraction of plant-based active principles, screening by UV-VIS spectroscopy, GC-MS to identify the active principle, AAS to determine metallic pollutants, target identification by qPCR and Western Blot etc.
Pre Event Description :
A Hands on Training entitled “Application of Analytical and Molecular Tools for Characterization and Identification of Plants based Drugs and their Targets” was organised w.e.f 15-24th Feb, 2020 at Department of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, College of Veterinary Sc & AH, DUVASU, Mathura. This training was organised to impart Hands on training on advance analytical and molecular tools used in the plant based drug discovery to six participants from different parts of India. This training was organised under SCSP of ongoing ICAR-funded Outreach Programme on Ethno-Veterinary Medicine. In total one theory and eleven practical classes were held in this training programme. The programme encompasses basic principles of different analytical and molecular techniques viz. Extraction of plant-based active principles, screening by UV-VIS spectroscopy, GC-MS to identify the active principle, AAS to determine metallic pollutants, target identification by qPCR and Western Blot and statistical tools to analyse the scientific data.
