About the university

The Agriculture University, Kota came into existence on September 14, 2013 after bifurcation of MPUAT, Udaipur and SKRAU, Bikaner. The service area of AU, Kota represents two agro climatic zones i.e. Zone V (Humid South-Eastern Plain) and IIIb (part of Flood Prone Eastern Plain) of the state. It account for 9.98% of geographic area, 31.59% forest area, 10.46% barren and uncultivated land, 13.35% pasture land, 3.18% cultivable waste land and 9.51% net sown area of the state. About 20.60% irrigated area of the state is under AU, Kota service area. While AUK service area also accounts for 12.38% of human population with 11.26% of livestock population of the state. The jurisdiction area of the university includes 6 districts namely Kota, Baran, Bundi, Jhalawar, Sawai Madhopur, and Karoli with grate variability in soil, water along with the rainfall ranging from 650-1000 mm per year.
The teaching, research and extension education programmes of the university are fully integrated and are being implemented in constituent college.

Objective

To develop human resources and to generate appropriate, efficient & effective technology for sustainable growth in agriculture and allied fields ensuing enhanced food & nutrition security, income generation and environmental safety.

Achievements

    1. Video conferencing facilities has been developed under Chatro se Baat Programme.
    2. Facilities developed for faculty in computer lab and library.
    3. Leased line for High Speed Internet Connectivity & Wi-Fi has been installed.
    4. Amenities Facilities developed by directorate of research and ARS, Kota for faculty.
    5. E-monitoring of research units ARS, Kota
    6. Sports facilities are strengthened along with creation of Gym facilities in boys hostel and Badminton court in girls hostel.
    7. Intake capacity in the girls hostel is increased by accommodating 24 additional girls in the girls hostel and basic facilities are provided.
    8. Well equipped class rooms were developed.
    9. CCTV Cameras has been installed in all the hostels.
    10. Solar System has been fabricated in the ADM block of the college.
