Dr. Arun Kumar organized Winter School on “Significance of Bioactive Ingredients and supplements in Health Foods” during 1st - 21st January 2019, at CDFST sponsored by ICAR New Delhi. 18 Participants from all over country attended it and more than 30 resource persons of local and national and institutions gave deliberations. At the time of inauguration Dr. U.S. Sharma,HVC, MPUAT, Udaipur, Dr. N.S. Rathore, DDG(Education), ICAR, New Delhi and Dr D C Rai, from BHU-Varanasi delivered expert talks and interacted with all the participants.Other local speakers from the Department of Food processing Engineering, Food and Nutrition, Horticulture and from our College were also invited to discuss various aspects of manufacturing health foods and the role of various bioactive ingredients and supplements in health foods.
Resource persons from the MNC’s like Agelient Technologies, N Delhi and Chris Hansen, Ahmadabad were also invited to discuss the applications of latest sophisticated analytical techniques like LCMSMS, GCMSMS as well as role and types of human gut friendly Probiotics cultures used PAN India and internationally by different food industries for manufacturing novel health foods.
