The workshop focused on providing expert lectures and practical training by Dr RiazShah, Head, Division of Animal Biotechnology, Dr Sadanand Sontakke & Dr Sambasiva
Rao, Principal Scientists from CCMB-LaCONES (Laboratory for Conservation ofEndangered Species) to the wildlife biologists, field veterinarians and research scholars from
various universities across the valley including University of Kashmir, Central University ofKashmir, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, and SKUAST-Kashmir for
collection and cryopreservation of tissues and germplasm from endangered wild animals.During the inaugural session of the workshop Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor,
SKUAST-Kashmir, the Chief Guest of the function stressed on effective collaboration
between Department of Wildlife protection, J&K and SKUAST-Kashmir for conservation ofthreatened and endangered wild animal species. Prof. Nazeer welcomed the efforts of Prof.Motilal Madan, former DDG-ICAR & Vice-Chancellor, the stalwart of AssistedReproductive Technologies (ART’s) of Livestock in India, who was the guest of honour at
the function.
