About the university

The University has three constituent Veterinary colleges located at Jabalpur, Mhow and Rewa, one Fishery Science College at Jabalpur; School of Wildlife Forensic and Health and Animal Biotechnology Centre located at Jabalpur. Besides the colleges and centres offering degree courses, the university has also five Polytechnics located at Jabalpur, Mhow, Rewa, Bhopal and Morena offering two years Diploma course in Animal Husbandry.

The University is imparting education and training in different branches of Veterinary and allied sciences. The University offers Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in all the three constituent colleges. Postgraduate courses leading to M.V.Sc. were introduced in Jabalpur and Mhow Colleges in 1961. A Diploma course in Animal Husbandry has been initiated by the University at Jabalpur, Mhow, Rewa, Bhopal and Morena with the objective to fulfill the manpower requirements in the fields of animal husbandry and poultry. A College of Fishery Science is also established at Jabalpur from the Academic Session 2012-13 under the directives of the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

Objective

Central instrumentation lab is equipped with instruments at CoVSc Jabalpur and Mhow.

Two JRF have been selected through competitive examinations at National level.

Thirty seven teaching faculty have been trained with advance training programmes by participating in National seminars, conferences and workshops trainings.

Class rooms have been equipped with LCD class room furniture and other modern facilities.

Facilities at Livestock Instructional Farm Complex (LIFC) and Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) have been updated for advance disease diagnosis and surgical interventions.

ARIS Cell has been upgraded with computers and internet facility to cater to the needs of students.

Seven quality instructional manuals on various subjects have been prepared for undergraduate students.

School for Wildlife Forensic and Health is developed for monitoring health, management and disease diagnostics facilities by funding with Niche Area of Excellence project.

State of the art laboratories in Animal Biotechnology and Technology Transfer Centre are established.
