Education Planning and Home Science (EP&HS)

Educational planning strives to develop, co-ordinate, implement and monitors plans and policies including reforms in higher agricultural education in the country leading to quality human resource development and aims for maintaining and upgrading quality and relevance of higher agricultural education through partnership with 74 Agricultural Universities comprising of State Agricultural Universities (63), ICAR Deemed-to-be-Universities (4), Central Agricultural Universities (3) and Central Universities with Agriculture Faculties (4). The Indian Council of Agricultural Research provides financial supports for establishment of infrastructure facilities including Faculties and Students Amenities viz. Student Hostels, Examination Halls, Educational Museums, Sports and Recreational Facilities, Placement Cells, and Modernization of Educational Farms and Library Facilities

Libraries are information center where information is readily available. The ICAR Library Strengthening grants provided for development of Digital libraries and information centers which can play a vital role in providing specialized services.

Tribal Sub Plan

Tribal welfare programmes were supported under Tribal Sub-Plan to the eligible State Agricultural Universities for implementation of the programmes covering tribal districts in various states. The funding under Tribal Sub Plan is done mainly for, Animal husbandry, Backyard poultry, Dairy development, Fisheries, Integrated farming system etc.

Student READY

It is conceptualized to reorient graduates of Agriculture and allied subjects for ensuring and assuring employability and to develop entrepreneurs for emerging knowledge intensive agriculture by articulating knowledge, skill, ability and experiences. The stipend rates have enhanced to Rs 3000/ student/ month for a maximum of 6 months under student READY (RAWE).
